 Opportunity Summary

The successful candidate will work with CMI’s private mortgage investment team to promote and grow our industry-leading whole mortgage investment program. This role requires a dedicated, dynamic, and client-centric individual who is dedicated to building “high-touch” relationships through the wholesaling of CMI’s private mortgage investment products to high net worth, family office and institutional investors. About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Vice President Investments, the Investment Manager will offer a uniquely personalized investment experience to investors in our whole mortgage investment program. You will work with each investor to build a customized deal profile, which will allow you to tailor opportunities to each investor’s specific needs and preferences. Through the delivery of an exceptional client experience, as well as through proactive networking and business development activities, you will cultivate referrals and grow our investor base. As a subject-matter expert, you will collaborate with our Marketing and Communications team to contribute topic suggestions and commentary to assist in the curation of timely and compelling content, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies and sponsored articles.

 The successful candidate has experience working with sophisticated fixed income investors, and the skill to source and develop new investor relationships. You have a well-developed network and the ability to manage external relationships in the high net worth and ultra-high net worth investor community. You possess an extensive understanding of the alternative investment space and its unique value proposition, including the private mortgage lending market, and a strong investment sales, service, and advice background.

 Responsibilities

  • Build investor confidence in the company’s vision and ability to deliver investor value;
  • Deliver a uniquely personalized and customized experience to investors in our whole mortgage investment program, including the development of custom investment profiles;
  • Create and present tailored investment opportunity proposals to current and potential new investors;
  • Support investors’ decision-making processes through individual meetings and meetings with senior leaders, as required;
  • Develop a comprehensive investor relations framework and strategy;
  • Source prospective investors by broadening awareness and interest through conferences, presentations, meetings, media, and other engagement methods, including prospecting calls in response to leads;
  • Prepare for and host investor conference calls;
  • In-depth understanding of the company’s leaders, strategies, value proposition and product positioning, operating units, technologies, and financial performance expectations; remain current on company operations;
  • Remain current on economic, political, regulatory, industry, and stock market outlooks;
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear and consistent two-way communication;
  • Provide market insights to the executive management team, including financial trends, investor needs and concerns, competitor actions, and other insights that might impact the company;
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to contribute subject matter expertise in the curation of timely and compelling content and other marketing information, including blogs, whitepapers, case studies, social media posts, videos, podcasts, and sponsored articles;
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in creating the company’s external and internal messages and in ensuring that all company external and internal communications are integrated, consistent and fully aligned with the brand; and other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in the relevant industry.
  • Proven investment sales track record and the demonstrated ability to consistently meet performance KPIs.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills and a proven ability to source and develop new investor relationships.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft powerful and engaging messages that inspire others.
  • Strong presentation skills in a variety of audience sizes and settings.
  • Entrepreneurial with an advice-centric client-service mentality.
  • Proven self-starter who can work in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to excel under pressure.
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-manage and problem-solve with limited leadership contact and oversight.
  • Previous experience in the private lending and/or debt investment space would be an asset.

 

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $150,000.00 per year
